Skiing in Bear Valley has been awesome this spring, especially after a fresh snow. Once in a while you find that secret spot that gives you the feeling of pure happiness. We traversed out to an outside area where virgin snow lay in front of us. No tracks in sight. Just untouched rolling terrain. We all made perfect turns as we skied down this amazing terrain. The second joy in completing this run is to look back at your tracks and view the perfect linked turns. After that the excitement, came the statement “Let’s do it again” We all did.

You would be suprised at the fun the bear Valley area has to offer so close to the Bay area. Maybe I will regret it but right now few have have discovered the fun and beauty of our area. Come take a look. www.sierravacationrentals.com 1 209 795-4712

The beauty of Lake Tahoe can not be beat. The activities are vast and the weather in the summer is revitalizing. It is hard to find a more perfect place winter or summer. I truly love Lake Tahoe. The only-thing negative at all is the amount of people that come to enjoy Lake Tahoe. It is Crowded beyond it’s capacity and has made the Lake Tahoe area suffer from urban congestion. Many times I have have enjoyed an outing near the lake only to get caught in a irritating traffic jam while we were getting back to where we are staying. This problem has become more the norm and common place in the Tahoe region.
There is an alternative, the Ebbetts Pass corridor. It offers much of the same beauty of the Tahoe Region but it has one difference. It is never crowded. You can find a place to hike and not feel like you are in line like going to Disneyland. The Arnold and Bear Valley region is expanding in its offerings of activities with the expansion of the ski area to the increased shopping and concerts at the Kautz Ironstone’s outdoor amphitheatre. In the Arnold Bear Valley Area you can go for a hike to a serene lake with you and your family and experience nature in a very private setting. Sometimes your family will be the only people you will see. The climate is unhurried and calm because their are no crowds. There are plenty of alternatives to place to go. You can water-ski on a warm lower lake like Melonie’s Lake near Angels Camp or go on a hike to see caves and creek at Natural Bridges; Shop in downtown Murphy’s and picnic at Murphy’s park; Wade in Murphy’s Creek, Kayak in Union or Utica Reservoir or Swim in White Pines Lake in Arnold or venture higher with a hike to Duck lake or Highland Lakes. These are only some of the many place to go and experience. Come learn about the Bear Valley-Arnold (Ebbetts Pass) Region. Go to http://www.unexpectedvacations.com/ for more information about the areas activities. Or got to http://www.danseider.com/ or http://www.bigtreesrealty.com/

Lately, what has opened my eyes to this shear excitement has been running on a trail in the national forest near my home. It is a hard run up the hill, but the reward is spectacular. This view is a wide and vast vista looking into the Dardanelles and deep into High Sierra’s. This experience is a breathtaking way to start my day.

Bear Valley Mountain has made some improvements to expand the great experience at the mountain. Northern California’s closest premier family resort unveils a new family center, kids snow play program, $100,000 train park improvement and improved snow making capacity. All these improvements are wonderful, but the best and greatest addition to the ski area is the new snow cat access to the back country of the sierra. The addition of snow cat access will allow good skiers to experience the back country of the pristine High Sierra. If you want to experience nature while skiing some of the best terrain in California you will have to try this. I expect this service to really be a hit and bring an experience you see only in resort areas that are in Colorado or Canada.
