This beautiful 5 bedroom, 2 bath chalet is located in a quiet area of Big Trees Village within walking distance to Big Trees State Park. This mountain home sleeps 8-10 comfortably. (5 bedrooms, 2 baths).
Main source of heat is wood and the woodstove will keep you warm downstairs and up on those chilly winter nights! There is plenty of firewood for guest use. There are electric heaters in main floor bedrooms.
2-night minimum stay/3-Night Minimum during Holiday Periods/4-night minimum during Christmas & New Years. Updated kitchen, open floor plan with a large loft.
Snuggle up in the great room on the wraparound leather couch in front of the woodstove and 40" TV with Comcast cable. This home also offers Netflix and Amazon online for guest viewing. The picnic style dining table seats 8-10. Kitchen bar has 4 stools. There are three bedrooms on the main floor (1 king, 1 queen, and 1 double bed). The open loft has an air hockey/ping pong table, sofas for lounging, 28" TV with Comcast cable. The two upstairs bedrooms each offer 1 queen bed.
The large partially covered front deck is ideal for BBQing on the propane BBQ, visiting and enjoying the trees. The hot tub is NOT CURRENTLY available for guest use. More fun awaits outside in the large open yard with a tire swing and a basketball hoop for kids! Horseshoes and badminton set available for guests.
Karock Cabin is perfect winter or summer for a large family or a group of friends. There is level parking at the top of the drive and the garage is available for guest use.
Access Information: You will receive check-in instructions, including your access code for entry, 2-4 days prior to your scheduled arrival date. Please be sure to check your junk/spam email, as sometimes these instructions end up there.
Pet Policy: This cabin is not pet friendly - If a pet is brought to a non-pet friendly cabin, there will be a $1,000 fee charged to card on file.
Audio/visual cameras are on site (exterior only).
Tenant must be at least 25 years old to rent.
Communication: Property management will contact tenant by their preferred method of communication (personal email, text, etc.) to send a required rental agreement, check-in instructions, etc.
Payment (where applicable): A 2% surcharge (of the total transaction amount) will be added to your transaction charges when your credit card is charged. Upon booking, $300, plus the c/c fee, is due immediately and is charged to the credit card on file. The balance is due 30 days prior to arrival (if you are booking a stay that is sooner than 30 days from the booking date, the full amount is due immediately & will be charged to your card on file). We will accept payment by check for the final payment, as long as your arrival date is further out than 45 days. If you wish to pay by check, please email our office immediately to advise us NOT to charge your card on file for the final payment. Please note that if your check is not received by the 30 day mark, your credit card on file will be charged, regardless of previous arrangement. All payments are due in full 30 days prior to your arrival.

We had a great time! Wonderful cabin. Clean. Fun and comfortable for the whole family. We had four adults and children ages 2 to 10. It was close to the lake, and close to the sequoias.

House has a very comfortable layout for 2 families of 4, with 5 BR, and 2 full baths. The downstairs area was great for hanging as a big group with adequate seating for meals, with a breakfast nook also. House has cable tc, wifi, and phone. Cell service sketchy in the mountains. There is a huge deck, and a nice area outside. Thsi is a nice place to stoke a fire and relax!

We had a great time staying in this house. The house is equipped with what we needed, clean, spacious and great location to the stores, lakes and close to Calaveras state park. The owner is responsive and easy to communicate. Beautiful neighborhood with lots of trees around the place. Everyone enjoyed and we had a great time relaxing. Highly recommending to anyone thinking of staying here!

This house was great. Even in this remote location, the wifi worked fine. The trees leave a lot of sap everywhere, so there was a note requesting that we not wear shoes inside the house. It would have been nice to know in advance to bring slippers for inside the house.

It was a perfect home for this trip. There were 5 of us, all us us were able to have

The only complaint was none of the beds had sheets on them on arrival. That bothered a few of the ladies in our group. They requested the sheets be removed and folded at the foot of each bed. Over all experience 5***

Arrived with 12 inches of snow coming down. Cozy but large cabin, nicely fit our 7 adults and 3 kids for 4 nights. Quarter mile walk to access trail into Big Trees and nice spots for sledding. Hot tub an added plus on the covered patio.

Our family usually rents a house at Lake Tahoe. (Not the same house every year.) This year we decided to change the scenery, but the trees and the homes look like those around Lake Tahoe. And that's OK. We spent one day at White Pines Lake and another on a pontoon boat on New Melones Lake. Both lakes are reasonably close to Karock Cabin. At the cabin we enjoyed great meals, lots of music--we brought our guitars and a keyboard--and plenty of laughter. The cabin was perfect for us and I hope many other families will enjoy staying there. Special thanks to Maureen (Mo) and Anne.

Our sierra is very much like Lake Tahoe but a quieter version which many of our guests are opting for now. If you did not have a chance to visit Lake Alpine then please make sure you do with your next trip. It is just a short drive up Hwy. 4 from Dorrington. Beautiful Lake!
We use it as an overflow sleeping quarters from our cabin for a big family get together. It is perfect.
