Welcome to Making Meko Memories

Set among the towering pines of Dorrington, Making Meko Memories is a fully remodeled, classic-modern A-frame where nostalgic mountain architecture meets fresh, like-new comfort.

The dramatic roofline, warm wood ceilings, large windows, and loft capture everything guests love about an A-frame cabin, while the remodeled kitchen, bathrooms, furnishings, and living spaces make the home feel polished, comfortable, and current.

The cabin includes sleeping space for up to six with the living-room sofa bed, but occupancy is intentionally limited to four guests for a more spacious and relaxing stay.

Living room

The main living area showcases the cabin’s signature A-frame architecture with soaring wood ceilings and windows overlooking the surrounding trees.

Settle into the comfortable seating for conversation, streaming a favorite show on the smart TV, or warming up beside the easy-to-use propane log fireplace.

A mini-split in the living room provides both heating and air conditioning. Please note that the mini-split is located only in the main living area.

The sofa converts into an additional sleeping space, although total occupancy remains limited to four guests.

Kitchen and dining

The remodeled kitchen is fully equipped for preparing everything from quick breakfasts to relaxed cabin dinners.

The dining table seats six, giving guests plenty of room for shared meals, games, or planning the next day’s mountain adventure.

Bedrooms

The cabin has two private bedrooms, each furnished with a queen bed.

The primary bedroom suite is located on the main level, offering convenient access without requiring guests to climb the interior stairs.

The second bedroom is tucked beneath the cabin’s distinctive A-frame roofline and offers its own cozy mountain character.

Linens and bedding are provided.

Bathrooms

Guests have access to:

Two full bathrooms with showers
One half bathroom located in the laundry room

The main-level primary bedroom includes an ensuite bathroom.

Please note that there are no bathtubs in the cabin. Bath towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are provided.

Loft and workspace

Interior stairs lead to the loft area, where guests can enjoy another inviting perspective of the cabin’s open A-frame design.

A dedicated workspace and Wi-Fi make it possible to check in with the outside world when necessary, although the trees may persuade you to close the laptop early.

Outdoor living

Step onto the deck for fresh mountain air and views of the surrounding forest.

Gather in the Adirondack chairs around the propane firepit table, sip coffee beneath the trees, or prepare dinner on the propane barbecue.

The deck is not completely private, and neighboring properties may be visible through the trees.

Big Trees Village recreation access

Seasonal access to the Big Trees Village Recreation Center is included at no additional charge.

The recreation center generally operates from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Open days, hours, available amenities, and snack-bar service vary throughout the season. Guests should review the current schedule online before their stay.

All HOA and recreation-center rules must be followed. Access may be affected by weather, maintenance, staffing, or other HOA-controlled closures.

Location

Making Meko Memories offers a convenient home base for exploring the Highway 4 corridor and the Sierra Nevada.

The cabin has a level driveway with parking for up to two vehicles.

There are only two steps from the driveway to the front door, making arrival and unloading easier than at many mountain cabins.

The neighborhood roads are paved. During winter weather, chains, cables, or four-wheel drive may be required for highway and neighborhood travel. Guests are responsible for checking current road conditions and Caltrans chain controls before traveling.

Guest access

Guests have private access to the cabin, deck, laundry facilities, and driveway.

The washer and dryer are available for guest use.

Seasonal Big Trees Village Recreation Center access is also included, subject to its current schedule and HOA rules.

Security cameras

Exterior security cameras are located on the property and record video for safety and security.

There are no cameras inside the cabin or in private guest areas. The exact locations and whether audio is recorded should be disclosed in the Airbnb safety-device section.

The cabin has two queen beds and a living-room sofa bed.
No pets are permitted.
The cabin has showers only and no bathtub.
Interior stairs lead to the loft and upstairs areas.
Air conditioning is provided by a mini-split located in the living room only.
Outdoor flames are limited to the provided propane firepit and barbecue.
Seasonal fire restrictions and HOA rules must be followed.
Recreation-center amenities and schedules are controlled by the Big Trees Village HOA and cannot be guaranteed.
Winter conditions may require chains or four-wheel drive.
