The Dancing Bear was a remarkable cabin to stay! We loved all that the cabin had to offer and was a perfect getaway for my family and I. Sierra Vacation Rentals was very responsive, helpful and direct with their communication and checked in on us - even after we arrived.I can’t wait to stay here again and create more core memories with my family ❤️

Beautiful cabin in a great location. Very short drive to Calaveras Big Tree State Park and about 30min to bear valley. The cabin was very comfortable, clean and cozy. Had a full kitchen and bbq right out back. Fun game room downstairs. I would definitely love to go back.

Great location. Well-equipped house, nice living spaces and bedrooms. Loved the hose layout. We enjoyed both mornings and cozy evenings after skiing. great both for adults and families.

We loved the cabin and the experience. It was perhaps the best-stocked cabin we've ever rented. The owner even left a nice basket of treats. We will definitely try to rent this cabin again. Thank you to the property management company and the owner for a great all-around experience!

The queen mattress for some folks would be luxe, but we preferred the firmer mattress. The saturday evening display of dirt bikes by the neighbor was too loud and the foul air does not stay on the property of the neighbor. Otherwise, our stay was really wonderful, and peaceful. We hope to stay again there.

We had such a wonderful stay. The cabin had everything we needed, was impeccably clean, and was such a cozy and inviting space. The property manager was responsive and helpful. It was a perfect location to bounce between Arnold and Bear Valley, with lots to do nearby as well.

A beautiful cabin in the forest, everything you need for a relaxing vacation, clean and comfortable, quiet and relaxing. But only 15 mins drive to grocery stores, hiking trails and lakes for swimming- what more could you ask for! Just wonderful!

We loved this little cabin, it was perfect for our family vacation. Management company was very professional and super responsive even on the weekend. Cabin was clean and well equipped. Would definitely come back, we would love to try it in the winter!

We got lucky and got there with snow. It was amazing. The host gave us instruction on where to go and where to eat. All were great. The recommendations in the guest book were also helpful. A good place to visit.

A very cozy and stylish spot perfect for a small family. Kids loved all the toys provided. We stayed for a few nights in Feb, and were lucky to get snow in the backyard for snow play. Bear Valley Cross Country is 25mins away up a beautiful and well plowed road (AWD or chains though). The downhill skiing resort is another 5mins after that. There is a large supermarket Big Trees Market about 10mins away. We’d love to come back to this wonderful little cabin.

Had a wonderful time during our stay. Cabin was cozy and fit our family perfect. Hosts were very responsive when we had a small issue getting into our cabin and were able to help us get in with no problems at all! Kitchen was well stocked. Porch was perfect for us to sit and relax while the kids ran around outside. Definitely adding this as a favorite spot for future trips!

Great A-frame cabin with good character and awesome wood stove for chilly evenings. We loved our little cozy cabin to come back to after skiing, and it's close enough to groceries and food at the general store and saloon nearby. The kitchen is well stocked and beds are nice and comfy! Thanks for a great stay.

Cute cabin, everything in working order and comfortable. Cozy fireplace, fully functional kitchen, three sleeping areas with lots of privacy. Responsive hosts and a great location for winter trips!

The Sukoon Retreat Cabin is just great for our annual 3-night get together. We enjoy the cabins roominess & the deck.

I would request the addition of a powered hand mixer and a blender.

My wife wanted to create a family “ Snow “ getaway experience for the whole family . A friend referred Arnold , Ca . As a pleasant destination and it delivered. The Dorington Realty Co . Was very helpful with updates on current developments with weather and other conditions during our travel to the property. The house conditions were perfect our family had plenty of room and the property was very nice, clean. Looking forward to our next visit.

The cabin was beautiful, super clean and comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The game room was amazing. The location was close to Calaveras Big trees and the adorable towns of Arnold and Murphys. We highly recommend this home!

Check-in and communications were very easy and responsive. The location was nestled among the forest and so peaceful. We enjoyed the deck many times and the umbrellas were perfect and added to the ambiance. Plenty of kitchen and bathroom supplies, except we had some difficulty storing our provisions in the refrigerator/freezer and cupboards since the owner had many of their own things there.

Since we couldn't put any trash outside for fear of critters getting into it, we had to make a temp space in the entryway to minimize odors in the rest of the house. Be aware that you will need to drop off the trash and recycling at the Avery dump.

Because the weather was so hot it had a negative affect our our vacation and the fans were only minimally helpful and I seriously considered an early departure. The top level was unbearable and we could only tolerate the heat sitting on the bottom level.

There are motion lights in the driveway which three bedrooms face and when they go off at night, it is very startling. So you have to sleep with the heavy blinds drawn which didn't help with the problem of air flow.

Also, the two bedrooms on the main level contain a queen and king bed, not two kings.

Great house; loved the bonus room; we visited during a heatwave but surprisingly not too hot inside!

The mountain house was spectacular. It accommodated all of our group (originally 9 but only 6 attended). The kitchen was of sufficient size, double refrigerator w/bottom freezer. Toaster & small microwave, good selection of mixing bowls. Plenty of pots & pans (although I'm glad I brought some various sizes of frying pans). Stove & outdoor grill was very nice. The dining table handled our poker game very well. The window shades for the clerestory windows was unique! I appreciated the recliner as my back pain does not do well in a regular bed.
Game room was great w/full size billiard table!
The outdoor deck & table & chairs are very comfortable.

There is no A/C!, also no salt & pepper shakers?

I met the young cleaning lady when I returned to retrieve some shirts & told her how clean everything was & we appreciated her efforts.

We arrived just after an early April snowstorm but roads had just been cleared so we didn't need chains. Available snow shovels helped us make fast work of clearing entire driveway for multiple vehicles.
The house is clean and well-stocked. The furniture is attractive and comfortable, and since we had a group of 10 including several children we appreciated use of different levels of the house for different activities.
The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare multi-course meals for our clan.
The downstairs game room is stocked with several games and puzzles, in addition to a pool table and large screen TV for movies, etc. Its adjacent bunk area is perfect for older kids.
The location is less than 5 minutes off Highway 4 and easy to get to; the driveway is gently sloped but not steep like some nearby.
The neighborhood is very quiet and we found a lovely open area within a 10 minute walk for simple snowplay with our young children. Also, there were some trails for snowshoeing in that same area.
Because of the recent storm, the deck had about 8-10 inches of fresh snow, perfect for our kids to play in without leaving the house. By the time we left 4 days later, it had all completely melted, but it was a lovely asset the first day or two.
I highly recommend this home and we hope to return again. I think it would be lovely any time of year.

We had a fairly large group of people and this cabin was excellent! Lots of space with lots to do. We will return!

Our rental experience was great! I had to leave a thank you note on the counter top expressing our gratitude. Things were clean, just a bit of dried coffee or chocolate on the counter by the sink but not a big deal. We had issues with the coffee maker but managed. Other than that, my family loved the stay. We don't always get to go out all together as a family so this was nice. It was a bday celebration getaway for my husband, daughter n son. They enjoyed the man cave/studio. Played pool n games we had taken. I personally enjoyed the view from there. Especially the snow in th mountains. I’m originally from Chicago so this was a great treat! Time in the snow making memories & taking pictures! Thanks again for sharing your beautiful home! ALL 5’stars for the questions!

The property was impeccable and all is basically new.
There are spaces for kids to play, relax and yet adults can be in the same property but separate from all the excitement

This house was actually better than the pictures! It wasn’t a huge house but had enough space in all the right places. It had plenty of room for 8 people. The house was fully stocked with everything. Our boys loved the pool table and private living area. I’d love to return in the summer to enjoy the beautiful deck and surroundings hikes!

If you are looking for a vacation rental with close proximity to the Lakemont Pines lake and beach, this is the perfect place. We will definitely try to stay here again.
